Project Geode

Young geologists attempt to predict the appearnace of a geode's internal structure based on how it looks from the outside, its mass, and its physical characteristics. In this geologly activity, learners use scientific equipment to collect data, form a hypothesis, and identify the minerals found in geodes. I really like these science lessons published by the Illinois State Museum. They are packed with interesting and valuable activities, worksheets, web links, and hands-on projects.
