Random Sampling

Simulate a random sampling of data by tearing 20 sheets of paper into slips and place a number on 10 and a letter on 10. They place the slips in two separate containers and randomly draw a number and a letter. They record their selections and count a population of sunflower plants from a grid that corresponds to the number-letter combination. They repeat this process until they've counted 10 different grid segments. This is their random sample.

Lori H.
I have been extremely happy with the materials I've located. I'm always looking for new ways to spice things up with my high school students. I use group activities quite often to help my students so finding other ideas is a time-saver for sure. Member since 2010.
