Students have the opportunity to represent real-life situations mathematically in order to become familiar with part-to-whole relationships. In this real life math instructional activity, students study windowpanes and describe their shape and total number of parts. Students are presented with a fabricated scenario about a town with broken windows; they are asked to help the "window doctors" fix the windows by describing the window and how it is broken.
