Real Life Rosie the Riveters

There was more than one Rosie the Riveter. To learn more about the contributions women made to the World War II war effort, groups become expert on different "Rosie" and share their findings in a Jigsaw activity. The lesson concludes with a whole class discussion of the contributions of these women.

  • Have groups investigate what happened to many of the working women when the men returned from the war

  • Groups require access to devices with internet
  • Instructors must locate and project an image of the "We Can Do It!" poster
