Combine letter sounds, pronunciation, recognition, and word examples in one exercise by following these strategies. Scholars examine the letter b and identify it if they can. As they listen to you make the /b/ sound, youngsters try it out on their own. There are some excellent tips here to assist them if they have trouble imitating it. Kids brainstorm words that begin with this phoneme and finally play a fast-thinking letter recognition game. You point to letters one at a time; if it's a b they say the /b/ sound. For all other letters, they stay silent. The pronunciation guide isn't worth the time, but the letter cards may be helpful here.
