Youngsters examine how people show respect and care for the land. Specifically, learners see how the Native Americans truly did care for and respect the land, and still do so to this day! They also explore how they themselves can care for the land. The lesson is mostly discussion based, with the teacher showing pictures of a variety of animals and habitats. There are some terrific websites embedded in the plan that can be utilized to find photographs, maps, and Native American stories that all demonstrate their love for the natural environment.
