Young scholars investigate the concept of equal opportunity in school. In this equal opportunity instructional activity, students participate in a discussion about the fairness of certain situations in school. They listen to a story entitled, "Left Out", before explaining how the child was treated and how the situation could have been rectified. They work in teams to write a story in which a child is treated unfairly and they offer strategies to correct the situation based on gender equity.
