Here is a very nice lesson on rivers and the water cycle designed for young learners. In it, pupils view two animated cartoons that do a terrific job of showing how the water cycle works, and how rivers flow. After that, everyone answers questions about the upper, middle, and lower sections of a river. For homework, children are asked to photograph a river and determine if the photo is of the upper, middle, or lower section.
