Rocks, Their Mass and Volume

Young scholars measure volume using water displacement and mass using a balance. Once they have calculated these two values they will then calculate density while at the same time working on long division. After the activity and explanation of density the students fill out a chart collecting all of the calculated densities from the entire class and then constructing a bar graph to compare the different rocks measured.

Sara C.
Lesson Planet has helped me differentiate my classroom as needed. I always find it easy to adapt work for struggling learners but find it more difficult to adapt work for higher level learners. By using lesson planet I get great ideas to create fun, challenging work for my higher level learners.
