Roller Coaster Lab

Students participate in a hands on activity that demonstrates the law of conservation of energy. After setting up a roller coaster, they collect measurements of speed of marble and height of areas at which speed was measured. Activity is wrapped up with discussion about relationship between speed and kinetic energy as well as height and potential energy.
