Mathematicians use an inquiry method to solve linear equations. In this linear equations instructional activity, learners practice solving equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They solve multi-step equations and equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign. Each section features a class discussion, and work sample questions. The final activity requires students to work in small groups to plan a one-day trip to France.
