Sally Snake

Students study the /s/ phoneme by examining the sound in written and spoken words. They recite a tongue twister, and examine how their mouths move as they make the sound. Next, they write the letter, differentiate the sound in given words, listen to a read aloud, and draw a picture in response to the story. As an assessment, they name their pictures and circle the words that have /s/ in them.

Lesson Planet has cut down on my planning time for science and social studies. It has given me creative ideas for units and materials for math centers and materias to share at grade level planning.
