Scale Model of the Solar System

Lead your class through the procedure to create a scale model of the solar system. This resource reinforces concepts of scale and the mathematics involved, as well as the planets. Attach paperclips and staples to index cards to show the size of planets; demonstrate their respective distances by placing those cards along a hallway. The scale is given, using a step to represent 11 million kilometers. This work could be extended in many ways to bolster understanding.
