First graders demonstrate the use of their five senses. Each day, 1st graders are given a choice of activities such as drawing a picture, going on a picnic, listening to music, watching a video or performing a taste test. After each activity, children participate in class discussions regarding their particular activity. Classmates, in their math journals, illustrate and describe how they used their senses.
