Sponge-Painted Ocean Mural

I love big mural projects. They bring a sense of ownership to the classroom, look great for parents, and can be a great way to complete a unit. Here are the steps and suggestions needed to create an ocean mural for your class. Learners use sea (and synthetic) sponges to paint the backdrop for their mural. While some are painting, others are cutting, gluing, and glittering a variety of sea creatures and plants.

Lesson Planet is a quick, simple way to find lessons or great ideas for them! I teach 8th, 9th, and 12th grade math so this resource is great across grade levels! I love it!
