Stamps and Cemeteries as Storytellers

Students discern the difference between commemorative and regular issue stamps while drawing conclusions about the time period. In this Stamps as Storytellers lesson, students design stamps using symbolism and historical data. In addition, students visit a local cemetery to gather and record historical data about the community and a specific time period. Students create a stamp club at their school and make a gravestone rubbing at a cemetery.

Kathy S.
When plans are needed, and time is short, I begin here for help from my colleagues. The framework of lessons, excellent worksheets, and multimedia presentations has proved extremely helpful.
