Sunspots and the Sun's Rotation

In this sun learning exercise, students use a Sunspotter to observe the rotation of the sun by identifying the presence of sunspots and watching them rotate over time. Students calculate how many days it takes to see the sunspots they observe in order to determine the amount of time it takes for the sun to make one revolution.

I am a very busy Head of Department and often don't have time to create worksheets and other resources for my classes. Lesson Planet has helped me find many useful and interesting activities to support my students' learning.
