Symbolism in Sculpture

Young scholars use criteria developed in class to evaluate which of their own sketches would make the best symbolic sculpture. In this sculpture symbolism lesson, students work in pairs to create a sculpture and define its symbolic meaning. Young scholars may complete Internet research for guidance with symbolism. Students then draw sketches for their individual sculptures and choose a final design, techniques and materials to create sculptures based on their designs.
