Telling Stories in Art: Witness to a Brawl

Students examine how a piece of art tells a story. In this visual art lesson, students interpret a piece of art work by writing a newspaper article that tells the story of the moment in time that is depicted in a picture. They work with Georges de la Tours', The Musician's Brawl after discussing the scenario in small groups.

I've enjoyed being able to see other teachers' great ideas and implement them in the classroom. Also, the ability to use another teacher's PowerPoint and edit as needed is a huge boon as it saves time (especially since I am teaching a new topic this year).
