Texas Instruments: Numb3 Rs: Critical Maths

Based off of the hit television show NUMB3RS, this lesson introduces students to critical path analysis (CPA), in which tasks are broken into subtasks with prerequisites. In such a situation, subtasks must be completed in a certain order for the process to continue (in this lesson, the main task is preparing dinner; there are five subtasks, such as doing the green beans, setting the table, etc.). Students learn how to determine the quickest way of completing the major task by beginning each subtask at the right times.
