Texas State Historical Association: Texas Quiz Show

Curated by ACT

The Texas Quiz Show is an actual competition held online each year. Students sign up as individuals, and teachers are encouraged to use it as a class activity as well. Practice quizzes are posted three times a year, and students can use the Texas Almanac, the online Handbook of Texas, and their own text for study resources. Competition begins in March. Points are awarded for accuracy and speed of response. Students progress to the next round if they pass each set of quizzes. A face-to-face championship round is held in Austin, Texas in May for the 36 contestants with the highest scores.
