America's status as a world power came relatively quickly after the American Revolution - as did the expansion of its borders. The slides in this brief presentation detail the period from 1890 to 1899, in which a series of maps detail America's presence in the Pacific and in Latin America prior to the turn of the century. Additionally, the last few slides provide information about the American homeland during this period of expansion.
