The Great American Fire Drill

Pupils read a story about fire safety and create their own ending to the story in order to learn about fire escape plans and to demonstrate their writing skills. In this fire safety lesson, students discuss the parts of a story, read the story aloud together, then discuss the main character and the plot of the story. Pupils hypothesize about what happens next, and use the fire safety facts they have learned to help create an ending to the story.
