The Great American Fire Drill

Students read a story about fire safety and create their own ending to the story in order to learn about fire escape plans and to demonstrate their writing skills. In this fire safety lesson, students discuss the parts of a story, read the story aloud together, then discuss the main character and the plot of the story. Students hypothesize about what happens next, and use the fire safety facts they have learned to help create an ending to the story.

I am a special eduction teacher at a High School in Texas. I teach 45 subjects in 7 periods. Without Lesson Planet, I would drown just in the preparation. Thanks Lesson Planet.
