How are raptors and airplanes alike? Combine science and language arts in this fun and interactive project. Young scientists research the animal in order to design their own aircraft, and compete in a contest for farthest, fastest, and most maneuverable plane. They also write a technical report about their research. The second part of the project involves researching Greek myths such as Icarus and his wax wings, and writing creative myths of their own. A wonderful interdisicplinary assignment.
