The Mystique of the Artist

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Your high schoolers explore the role of artists in society in a creative three-week unit. First they customize art supply bags using paint, embroidery, appliqué, and other media. They imagine their ideal artistic work space and design a model of it. They write a character sketch of Canadian artist Robert Harris (or any artist who reflects your region or demographics) based on his work and writing. Finally, teams create films to reflect artists' impact on society.
