The North (Wall) Star

Middle schoolers engage in a lesson which shows them that celestial navigation is the art and science of finding one's geographic position by means of astronomical observations, particularly by measuring altitudes of celestial objects - sun, moon, planets or stars. Students measure angles, calculate averages and create a bar graph and calculate circumference.

Cassandra C.
I am teaching Summer School Biology, which is not a class I normally teach. Lesson Planet has been an invaluable resource for getting ideas for engaging students and finding project-based evaluation activities! Thank you!
