The Shape Shifter

Sixth graders are introduced to new concepts related to math. In groups, they examine the characteristics of a variety of geometric shapes. Individually, they cut out their own circle cutouts and discuss its characteristics. To end the instructional activity, they are shown a shape and identify them through paper folding.
