Students investigate the periodic table, the structure of the atom and the subatomic particles. For this periodic table lesson plan, students complete 5 activities in order to better understand atoms and the periodic table. They use models to represent atomic structure, they compare the mass of pennies minted before and after 1982 to represent atoms with different number of neutrons, they investigate atomic mass and they make an atom model.
