Tracing Highs and Lows in San Francisco

On a topographic map, high schoolers identify the scale bar, north arrow, and contour interval. They then locate a hill on the map and make note of the contour lines. Students then locate other places with similar contour line patterns. Additionally high schoolers locate a valley or basin, slopes and hikes.

I just completed my student teaching in Newark New Jersey. Creating unit plans became a breeze once I joined Lesson Planet. There was a plethora of resources for every CCSS. Thank you. I had veteran teachers asking me where did I get my resources. I am now teaching at my cooperative school. Yeah!!!!!!!!!
