Tracking a Hurricane

Learners play the role of amateur meteorologists and track a hurricane. In this hurricane lesson, learners follow a hurricane by tracking its coordinates on an overhead map. Students work in small groups to place dots on the map showing the hurricane's path. Groups decide whether to give warnings or to order evacuations to people in hurricane's path. Learners discuss difficulty of tracking hurricanes in real life situations.
