U.S. Set to Celebrate Lincoln Bicentennial

Students use a news article about the celebration of the Lincoln Bicentennial to answer questions about Abraham Lincoln and the celebration. In this current events and US history lesson plan based on a news article, students participate in a think-pair-share reading discussion and, while learning about Lincoln's life, think of appropriate nicknames for him. Lesson includes interdisciplinary follow-up activities.

Lesson Planet is a wonderful resource. I can easily search for lesson ideas and love the great printables. Lesson Planet has cut down on my planning time because I can usually find tried and true lessons on any subject. Why reinvent the wheel?
