Using Multiplication Facts to Divide

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

If Joe knows that 3 x 6 = 18, and has 18 cookies in 3 bags, how can he use that fact to know how many cookies go into each bag? Learners examine this and five other division word problems. They begin with a multiplication fact that they know, using it to answer a division problem with the same numbers. For each, scholars write the simple division equation and explain their process. Each of these take up half a page and are set up so you could cut them out and use at a math station.
