First graders use three out of their five senses to guess what is hidden under a box. They develop a class list of predictions, listen to the sounds and smell the popcorn popping, and make a new list of predictions. Students discuss their predictions and the senses they used, and listen to the book "The Popcorn Book" by tomie de Paola.
