In this VSEPR theory learning exercise, high schoolers build models of molecules using styrofoam balls and pipe cleaners to represent lone pairs. Students complete a chart for 12 molecules with valence electrons, Lewis structures, bond angles, lone pairs, designation, and the shape of the molecule.
