Washing Germs Away

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Young scholars investigate germs. In this cross curriculum health and biology lesson, students listen to Old Black Fly by Jim Aylesworth and identify ways in which flies spread germs. Young scholars discuss hand washing during a visit by the school nurse and sing a related song. Students construct a fly trap, catch flies, observe the flies' behavior, and record their observations by drawing pictures.
