Here's an algebra II activity that strives to make the concept of a radian less abstract and more conceptual. It takes a hands-on approach to exploring the idea of a radian and allows individuals to develop a definition of a radian through comparisons of measurements. By completion of these algebra II lessons, individuals are able to determine the quadrant in which a given radian measure lies.
- Materials needed: circular objects, adding machine tape, scissors, and markers/colored pencils
- Provides algebra II students with a solid understanding of the relationship between radius and circumference and how it relates to the radian measure of an angle
- Includes student activity handout, exit ticket, and keys
