Where's Dinner?

Upcoming marine biologists consider a list of organisms residing near the Lost City hydrothermal vents and construct a food web. They compare the food web to that of a cold seep community, of which they should have previous knowledge. They then prepare a report of the trophic relationships in each. This is a terrific lesson to use even in a general biology or ecology course when studying primary producers since the producers in these webs are chemoautotrophic.
