Alfred Waddell was a Trinidadian who emigrated to New York in 1963. Wanting to become a doctor, he enrolled at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Facing prejudice, success in private practice there came slowly. But he won respect by giving medical care to those with no access and fighting for social equality for all. This site gives background to a television documentary about his life.
