Students analyze portraits and decide on the most important aspects of their own personality. In this portraiture instructional activity, students identify feelings and emotions in the sitter and the creator of a portrait. After reading the poem "We Wear the Mask," students analyze themselves in writing. As a creative project, students create a mask that reflects some aspect of their own identity.
