Word Families

Scholars show what they know about word families with a activity that requires them to list as many words with a specific word ending as possible. Word families in focus are -at, -et, -ap, and -ip.

Instructional Ideas

  • Replicate the worksheet on a bulletin board and add words to their families as learners discover more during ongoing instruction 
  • Complete and review the sheet in a small group of pupils who require extra support 
  • Laminate, or place pages in plastic page protectors for class members to write on with washable marker and reuse at a later time
