Arthur Miller and The Crucible

Students research the McCarthy hearings and write responses based on Arthur Miller's The Crucible. In this performing arts lesson, students read the play and study the historical context surrounding its creation. Then students complete worksheets after reading the play, then discuss witchcraft, Puritanism, and the conflicts between these two belief systems.

Lesson Planet helps me with finding lesson plans that work. As a student teacher, my professors have told me not to try and recreate the wheel, use what is out there that works! Lesson Planet helps me to find ideas that I can tweak so they follow our state standards.
