Writing Fix: An I Pod Inspired Poetry Lesson: Paradox Poetry

Curated by ACT

Jack Johnson's "Inaudible Melodies" creates an interesting paradox of how society perceives itself versus the reality of how society really behaves. After listening to a second song using paradox in order to further understand the concept, students will create a paradox of their own that they feel describes the difference between perception and reality. They will then turn their paradox into an extended poem using each song as a model for their own writing. L.11-12.5a Figures of Speech
