Lesson Plan

Writing Fix: Camping Sentences

Curated by ACT

In this instructional activity, Teaching Grammar in Context by Constance Weaver provides foundational information for this instructional activity. When I Go Camping with Grandma, a book by Marion Dane Bauer, is used as the mentor text of this instructional activity. Students will develop sentences with nouns, action verbs, adverbs and prepositional phrases and later collect more ideas for sentences through an interactive idea generator, record them, and move the order of generated words until they are ordered in a way which they like the most. Then students will develop a story around the chosen sentence. [Requires Adobe Reader.]
