This statue was once a part of a standing statue depicting King Akhenaten, who made religious and social reforms and changed the Amun-Re cult into that of the Aten.

A statue depicting the young daughter of Akhenaten, with unnaturally lengthened skull, large eyes and fleshy lips.

This head of King Akhenaten is part of one of his colossi, which came from a temple built by the young king, and dedicated to the god Aten, in Thebes. It was found at Karnak, next to the temple of Amun-Re.
