Art: Iceberg Calves

Young scholars in small groups, research icebergs, including where they are located and the sinking of the Titanic. In addition, they discover the process of calving. Then, using construction paper and paints, students draw and color pictures of icebergs that have broken loose from glaciers. Written reports accompany the illustrations as do several adaptations of the primary lesson.

When plans are needed, and time is short, I begin here for help from my colleagues. The framework of lessons, excellent worksheets, and multimedia presentations has proved extremely helpful.
