Then, they interview their family members to research their own cultural background and write their findings on quilt pieces. Interview topics include the family's language, religion, celebrations, food, traditions, music, dances, and art.

  • Provide learners with a sheet of lined paper to easily write research responses
  • Using large butcher paper, direct class members to design the class quilt's shape and cut out their own squares
