Sal references the US Bureau of Economic Analysis to demonstrate discrepancies in US imports and exports with actual documentation. A financial account chart documents the inflow and outflow of asset ownership, and Sal observes how few Chinese assets America invests in compared to the American assets China invests in. He points out the trade deficit, drawing learners back to previous videos to remind them that this imbalance is what China remedies by investing in the US and other foreign assets.
