Fourth graders examine the use of possessives when describing family members. In this ESL family description lesson plan, 4th graders examine the role of family in their native language before looking at pictures of families assigning names to the members. They work with a partner to read a selection about an extended family before drawing pictures with captions based on the reading. They complete independent practice.
