It's all about rectangles here, and young geometers begin by following a dotted outline to trace the shape, then print one of their own. Next, they examine three pictures to count the rectangles in each. Learners practice writing numerals as they record each number. Consider extending this lesson by challenging learners to create their own image with as many rectangles as possible. Have them switch with a partner to count up the shapes. Did anyone get more than 10? 15?
