Second graders picture a typical day, beginning with getting up in the morning until they go to bed. They draw a picture of one interaction they had with someone or something. Students listen as the teacher reads El Pajaro, el Mono y la Serpiente en la Selva, by Kate Banks in Spanish. Students discuss the relationship between the animals in the book and ways things would be different for each animal if the others were gone.
